The Problem
Recycling companies manage a large volume of wood pallets in various conditions. When the pallets are fully intact, they can be immediately recirculated to their customers. When there is damage, or only parts of the pallet can be re-used, the pallets need to be partially dismantled and sorted for repair. This is a high-volume business!

The Solution
Enter the Pallet Saw System from Pallet Sorting Systems (PSS) with Fizyr OS advanced vision. Pallets of different sizes, with different layers and configurations are coming into the system, identified as requiring some dismantling and repair before they can be re-used.
Fizyr OS advanced vision identifies the precise, millimeter-level cuts necessary to cleanly remove wood and prepare the pallet for necessarry repairs or salvage usable remnants. This could not be achieved with hard-coded vision.
Guided by Fizyr OS, the robot adjusts the pallet positioning and passes it through the industrial bandsaw.
The Result
The system removes unusable parts. What remains of the pallet can be repaired or recycled and put back into circulation.
