Food & Hygienic Handling

Food & Hygienic Handling

Fizyr OS combines traditional image processing techniques and cascade learning to identify objects by size, material, shape, label, etc.; provide instructions for ideal gripping pose; and prioritize actions for faster, more accurate picking than other vision solutions.

When paired with hygienic robots, Fizyr’s advanced vision AI ensures the highest standards of cleanliness and accuracy in food picking, laboratory automation and other hygienic applications.

High volume food automation? Our vision can lead the way.

The challenge

From sorting chicken wings to kitting salads, food processing operations can vary greatly in design and complexity. In certain instances, items on a conveyor belt need to be routed for bagging, in others, small packets of ingredients must be added to larger containers. No matter which end of the spectrum, errors in identification and handling can create problems beyond a missed pick, such as introducing harmful bacteria which can make consumers sick and cause major product recalls.

When accuracy and quality are paramount to consumer satisfaction and safety, advanced vision AI ensures there are no compromises.

Fizyr’s Solution

Fizyr OS uses advanced vision AI for:

Our solution

High-Res 2D and 3D Image Capture

Capturing images from the best industrial cameras, optimized for the use case

Rapid Image Analysis

Processing visuals in milliseconds with optimized vision AI

Dynamic Environment Adaptation

Advanced vision is required for the more dynamic supply chain and manufacturing processes.  Fizyr OS vision provides the intelligence required in a variety of environments

Precision Object Identification

Segmenting individual items, understanding their dimensions, position, orientation and classification, the vision system communicates information required for the 'next steps' in automation

Advanced Occlusion Analysis

Fizyr OS has the native ability to capture visual data on blocked and partially 'unseen' objects. This allows the system to interpret issues with picking and obstacles to pathing and successful placement

The Key to Successful Placements

Items in all industry verticals and use cases must keep moving, get 'placed' for the next step in the process. Without advanced vision, automation of operations leads to poor KPIs

Once item identification, position and orientation are set, Fizyr OS determines whether the robot’s gripper will have adequate room to move and where it must begin its task and delivers handling instructions for the robot, all in milliseconds.

Fizyr OS  delivers unprecedented accuracy and efficiency, eliminates errors, and reduces time-consuming manual processes, even in the most demanding situations such as hygienic applications.

Active implementations

The integrator turned to Yaskawa for a hygienic salad kitting solution. Featuring its new HD-series robots, Yaskawa partnered with Fizyr (vision AI), Van Wees Waalwijk (binpick food cell) and Alpha Robotica (programming support) to deliver a custom solution for placing pieces of raw peppers and bags of salad dressing in bowls of lettuce.

Designed for mobility, the machine can be wheeled to the correct place on the production line. With all necessary components included, operation is as simple as connecting it to the power supply and compressed air, and choosing the program. The machine is equipped with a turntable and accommodates four crates of ingredients for the salads allowing the line to continue running during a crate change.
